Eutaxia obovata – egg and bacon plant
DESCRIPTION: Compact native flowering shrub, covered with lightly fragrant, yellow-orange and red pea-shaped flowers in spring.
USE IN: Mixed borders, mass planting, native gardens, and general garden planting. Suitable for pots and containers.
LOCATION: Dappled shade to semi shaded position in the garden. Tolerates most soil types. Plant in moist free draining soil rich in organic matter. Will tolerate light overnight frost once established.
CARE: Mulch and water well, tip prune after flowering for a tidy look and to ensure bushy, healthy growth. Feed with a slow release native fertiliser during spring.
